Amphenol RF expands its precision adapter portfolio with stainless steel 2.92 mm to SMA adapters designed for versatility in demanding laboratory and production test environments.

Amphenol RF is pleased to introduce 2.92 mm to SMA precision adapters into our robust portfolio of coaxial adapters suited for testing purposes. These adapters are available in a variety of configurations including plug to plug, plug to jack, jack to plug and jack to jack. 2.92 mm to SMA adapters offer high-frequency performance up to 26.5 GHz which supports broadband applications such as network and spectrum analysis, and RF production tests.

Featuring an air-dielectric interface, these adapters minimize signal loss and maintain low VSWR for optimal measurement accuracy. The −65 °C to +165 °C temperature range ensures functionality in a variety of harsh laboratory and field conditions. Designed with MIL-STD-348 compliant interfaces, these adapters are compatible with standard SMA and 2.92 mm (SMK) connectors. The body and coupling nut are machined from passivated stainless steel and feature a contact made from gold-plated beryllium copper. The retaining ring is SUS 304 with a silicone gasket, and the 2.92 mm insulator is made from PTFE while the SMA insulator is made from Ultem 1000. These adapters are suited for laboratory test benches, RF/microwave production tests, communications and radar system evaluations and high-frequency module characterization.

This new off-the-shelf solution joins a broad offering of adapters designed to meet the increasing need for high-frequency data transmission in next-generation designs.
