Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now shipping the new Genio 720 and 520 high-performance Gen-AI IoT system-on-chips (SoCs) from MediaTek. The Genio 720 and 520 AI Platforms integrate an octa-core CPU (720/ 2.6GHz, 520/ 2.2GHz) with two Arm Cortex-A78 processors and six Cortex-A55 processors, to optimize performance and power efficiency for the latest generative AI models, human machine interface (HMI), multimedia, smart home, retail, industrial, and commercial IoT devices.
The MediaTek Genio 720 and 520 high-performance Gen-AI IoT SoCs, available from Mouser, deliver superb edge performance for low-power usage, enabling up to 10 TOPS with a built-in MediaTek 8th-generation Neural Processing Unit (NPU), offering full hardware acceleration for transformer and convolutional neural network (CNN) models. Additionally, both the Genio 720 and 520 platforms offer enhanced memory performance with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory to support data-intensive edge-optimized large language models (LLMs), such as Llama, Phi, and DeepSeek, and accelerate generative AI tasks.
With a range of advanced multimedia features, Genio 720 and 520 are ideal for commercial displays, smart retail devices, HMI applications, and other multi-window or interactive applications. The Genio 720 and 520 can handle up to 5K high-detail single or dual active displays, and offer 4K HEVC video decoding and encoding, supporting up to six FHD30 cameras with MIPI virtual channels and flexible high-speed I/O interfaces. Connectivity is robust with pre-integrated MediaTek Wi-Fi 6/6E solutions, with support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Redcap modules, built to withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to +105°C.
Mouser also stocks the Genio 720 and 520 evaluation kits from AMobile Solutions, a subsidiary of MediaTek and ARBOR Technology. The evaluation kits offer engineers and developers a full-featured development platform to experience the capabilities of the Genio 720 and Genio 530 series chipsets firsthand. Designed to streamline product platform evaluation and development processes, this kit enables rapid prototyping and testing of edge processing, multimedia playback, and multitasking applications for smart home and interactive retail devices.
