The compact, highly integrated Type 2FP module is based on the NXP RW610 wireless microcontroller (MCU). The built-in, high-performance MCU provides advanced security features for connected smart devices in smart homes, enterprise and industrial automation, smart accessories, and smart energy applications.
The Murata Electronics Type 2FP module, now at Mouser, supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth LE 5.4, and Ethernet to ensure seamless connectivity and operational efficiency. The Type 2FP module also supports the latest Matter smart home connectivity protocol over Wi-Fi, Thread, and Ethernet, simplifying device interoperability and management.
The Type 2FP multi-radio module features 1.2 MB of SRAM, 16 MB of Flash, and an external PSRAM interface for system memory expansion up to 128 MB. The modules support a total of 64 GPIOs and rich peripheral interfaces, including FlexComm interfaces, SDIO 3.0, high-speed USB 2.0 On-The-Go (OTG) with integrated PHY, and digital microphone support. The built-in RW610 Wireless MCU provides advanced security features such as NXP EdgeLock Assurance, NXP EdgeLock 2GO Trust Provisioning, a trusted execution environment (TEE) based on Arm TrustZone-Mand, and hardware root of trust. The surface-mount type modules measure just 12 x 11 x 1.5 mm and weigh 0.54 g. The Type 2FP Wi-Fi 6+ module meets the Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) 3 standard and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
