PCIM Asia Shenzhen Conference 2026:
The PCIM Asia Shenzhen Conference 2026 serves as a key gathering for researchers and engineers from across the global power electronics community. The 2026 conference will focus on the growing domain of power electronics applications in artificial intelligence (AI) and data centres, with these topics becoming increasingly important due to rising demand for compute infrastructure and the requirement for more efficient, sustainable energy systems. The conference runs concurrently with the PCIM Asia Shenzhen exhibition, to be held from 26 – 28 August 2026 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Centre.
As Asia’s leading academic and industry platform for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management, the PCIM Asia Shenzhen Conference bridges industry, academia and research across the full value chain. Held in conjunction with the exhibition, the conference links technology from the research stage to industrial deployment and has become a principal forum for tracking technical developments and building the cross-sector partnerships that carry technology from the lab to the market.
The 2026 focus on power electronics in AI and data centres reflects key areas of transformation across the industry. Mr Leo Lorenz, Chairman of the PCIM Asia Shenzhen Conference, explains: “Over the past decade, data centres have become the fastest-growing application area for power electronics. The power architectures and point-of-load converters supplying the new generation of CPUs and GPUs are the defining challenge in meeting today’s requirements for energy efficiency, dynamic performance and thermal management.”
Alongside data centre infrastructure, the programme also addresses the application of AI technologies in other aspects of the power electronics field, from renewable energy control and power quality monitoring to motor drive optimisation and electric vehicle systems.
The conference covers all areas of the power electronics field, from foundational research and novel technologies through to industry applications, with sessions to be organised under three thematic tracks:
- Power electronics core technologies
This track covers advanced power semiconductors, packaging, and reliability, with an emphasis on device performance and materials optimisation. It includes AC/DC and DC/DC converters, digital power converters, and high-frequency power electronic systems
- Innovative applications and system integration
Focused on system-level solutions and energy efficiency, this track addresses motor drives, motion control, and automotive power electronics. It also covers system reliability, power quality solutions, and smart grid technologies.
- AI and data centre energy technologies
New for 2026, this track addresses AI applications across power systems, renewable energy, and electric machines. It focuses on power quality monitoring and electric vehicle systems, reflecting the areas of fastest-growing areas of technological development and industry investment.
The conference brings contributors and attendees into contact with decision-makers and technical experts from leading companies and universities worldwide. All submissions will be reviewed by the PCIM Asia Shenzhen Conference Advisory Board, comprising 46 specialists from leading companies and universities. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and are eligible for indexing in Ei Compendex, IEEE Xplore, IET Inspec-Direct and Scopus. To recognise outstanding contributions, the conference will also present four awards: the Best Paper Award, the Young Engineer Award, the University Scientist Award and the Excellent Poster Award.
