Tecumseh Launches New ‘Made in India’ TC3 Premium-Efficiency Compressor Platform

At ACREX India 2026, Tecumseh introduced the new TC3 premium-efficiency compressor platform, ranging from 3 to 12 cc, delivering more than 30% energy savings compared to current platforms. The TC3 compressor is proudly “Made in India”, supporting both domestic demand and regional markets through local manufacturing.

Tecumseh, a global leader in commercial refrigeration compressors and systems participated in ACREX India 2026. At this expo, Tecumseh will reinforce its commitment to sustainable refrigeration, energy-efficient innovation, and integrated cold chain solutions tailored to the needs of the Indian market.

With a strong local manufacturing footprint and a focus on environmentally responsible technologies, Tecumseh continues to deliver solutions that meet evolving regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and customer performance expectations.

“India is one of the fastest-growing refrigeration and HVAC markets in the world, driven by urbanization, food security needs, and the rapid expansion of organized retail and cold chain infrastructure,” said Ricardo Maciel, CEO of Tecumseh. “At Tecumseh, we see this growth as an opportunity to support the country’s sustainability goals with advanced refrigeration technologies that combine performance, energy efficiency, and lower environmental impact. Our presence at ACREX reflects our long-term commitment to the Indian market and to strengthening local manufacturing capabilities.”

“By combining global engineering expertise with strong local manufacturing capabilities, Tecumseh reinforces its long-term commitment to advancing India’s refrigeration and HVACR industry. “Energy efficiency is no longer just a competitive advantage — it is a market expectation, and our solutions help customers reduce operating costs while meeting stricter efficiency standards. By developing and manufacturing in India, Tecumseh can respond faster to regional market needs and support the continued growth of the HVACR ecosystem”, Ricardo Maciel further added.

Advancing Sustainable Cooling with Low-GWP Refrigerants

As global and regional regulations accelerate the transition toward lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants, Tecumseh is leading the shift with a robust portfolio designed for both current and future compliance.

At ACREX, Tecumseh showcased its compressors designed for R290 (propane), a natural refrigerant known for its low environmental impact and high efficiency. Engineered for performance and sustainability, Tecumseh’s R290 compressors support a wide range of commercial and light commercial refrigeration applications.

In parallel, the company continues to expand its A2L-compatible compressor portfolio, supporting the next generation of mildly flammable, low-GWP refrigerants. These solutions are developed with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and optimized system performance.

“The transition to lower-GWP refrigerants is accelerating globally, and India is playing an increasingly important role in this transformation,” said Fernando Fischer, Global Marketing Director at Tecumseh. “Customers are looking for solutions that not only meet environmental regulations but also deliver superior efficiency and reliability. Our R290 and A2L-ready compressor platforms are designed to help manufacturers and system integrators confidently move toward the next generation of sustainable refrigeration.”

Integrated Cold Chain Solutions: Systems and Condensing Units

Beyond compressors, Tecumseh presented its advanced cold chain solutions, including fully optimized systems and condensing units designed for food retail, food processing, and logistics applications.

Tecumseh is proud to introduce Orion, its new global fractional systems platform engineered to support a broad range of refrigeration applications. Designed with a compact footprint, multi-refrigerant capability, and a streamlined global supply model, Orion provides the flexibility and scalability required by refrigeration equipment manufacturers worldwide.
