Advantech and Lattice Collaborate to Accelerate Next-Generation Humanoid Robotics powered by NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge

Advantech, a global leader in industrial edge computing, announced a strategic collaboration with Lattice Semiconductor, the low power programmable leader, to advance humanoid robotics and AI-vision applications. Powered by the NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB),  the   solution leverages Lattice CertusPro-NX FPGA and integrated with NVIDIA Holoscan software, enables seamless, low-latency, sensor-to-compute communication over Ethernet, providing deterministic performance for high-resolution, real-time robotic perception.

MIC-FG-HSB: The Sensor-over-Ethernet converter board powered by FPGA

  • Support MIPI camera converter board /8P GMSL board
  • Supports up to 4K, 30FPS camera
  • Ultra-Low Latency Real-Time Data Processing
  • Direct Sensor Data Streaming to GPU Memory
  • V4l2, Gstreamer, Python support on Linux

Seamless Sensor-to-Compute Integration

At the core of the solution is the Advantech MIC-FG-HSB, a compact Lattice FPGA-based adaptor that serves as a sensor-to-Ethernet converter. It adapts diverse sensor interfaces such as MIPI and GMSL to high-speed Ethernet using the NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge.

Leveraging the Lattice CertusPro-NX FPGA, the adaptor delivers flexible I/O configuration, ultra-low latency, and precise time synchronization (<10 μs PTP accuracy), ensuring that multi-camera and depth sensor data reach the GPU memory directly for AI inference without bottlenecks.

“This collaboration with Lattice reinforces Advantech’s mission to empower the edge AI ecosystem by unifying NVIDIA Holoscan software stack, Lattice’s flexible FPGA technology, and Advantech’s rugged computing platforms to enable next-generation humanoid robots that can perceive and respond in real time,” said Magic Pao, Associate Vice President at Advantech.

“With the rapid adoption of humanoid robotics for advanced automation in manufacturing and healthcare, we’re excited to expand our partner ecosystem with Advantech around the Lattice FPGA-based solution using NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge. This collaboration accelerates the development of next-generation robots by enabling ultra-low latency, scalable, and high-performance edge AI applications that allow systems to perceive and respond in real time, powered by our industry-leading FPGA technology,” said Raemin Wang, Vice President, Segment Marketing at Lattice Semiconductor.

Scalable Edge Computing for Robotics Powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor Series

The HSB-powered solution integrates seamlessly with Advantech’s MIC-742 and MIC-735 system.

  • MIC-742 powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor, offering up to 2,070 TFLOPS FP4 AI performance, ideal for humanoid robots running transformer and vision-language-action (VLA) models.
  • MIC-735, powered by NVIDIA IGX Thor, delivers deterministic AI and functional safety features for real-time robotic control and motion coordination.

Together, these systems provide a scalable edge-to-AI compute foundation for next-generation robotic architectures, from sensor perception to cognitive decision-making.

High-Speed Networking with Switch

To support multiple HSB-powered sensors, Advantech introduces the EKI-2712X-SPE Switch, featuring:

  • 2 × 10G + 2 × 2.5G + 2 × SFP+ + 6 × SPE ports
  • SFP+ expansion for flexible fiber connectivity
  • Compact industrial design (130 × 115 × 57 mm) with 9–36 V DC input

This switch enables robust, real-time data transfer between multiple HSB nodes and Advantech’s MIC-AI systems, forming a synchronized sensor-to-AI compute network for humanoid robots.

Powering the Next Generation of Robotic Intelligence

The collaboration between Advantech and Lattice marks a significant step toward enabling more intelligent robotic systems. This joint innovation delivers the performance and flexibility needed for real-time sensor fusion and AI processing, which also helps robotics developers accelerate time-to-market, enhance motion precision, and scale advanced vision applications across humanoid and automation platforms.
