MICA 2 offers significantly more Computing Power

The MICA product family is evolving into a universal, modular platform to capture, machine-process and share wireless and wired data. New MICA versions further expand the possibilities. The MICA 2 offers three to five times the computing power of MICA Basic for sophisticated data acquisition and processing.

The MICA Wireless with 2G / 3G / 4G, 802.11a / b / g / n and Glonass allows data acquisition and communication without cabling. With the MICA Energy, data from electricity meters and current transformers can be read out, condensed and forwarded to MES, ERP and cloud systems. Thanks to the integration of the open source time series database InfluxDB and the dashboard software Grafana, evaluations and visualization can also take place directly on the MICA. For OEMs, customers, and third-party developers, HARTING also offers MICA kits that can be equipped with customized function boards .

Particularly in printed circuit board production and other manufacturing and quality assurance processes, sensor and data fusion with the MICA can quickly create added value. For example, a combination of RFID tags on printed circuit boards with energy, compressed air, and optical sensors can monitor a production line, correlate production steps with energy usage at all times, and collect and preprocess data for predictive maintenance.

In the first test runs at HARTING it has become apparent that beyond the planned applications further KPIs such as machine run times or asset management of tools can be trivially added by the modular MICA architecture.
