RS Components expands RS Pro connectors and cables range

New RS Pro interconnect products offer alternative to key commodity parts in applications spanning industrial, medical and consumer

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, has substantially increased its RS Pro range of professional, affordable components with additions to its connector offering. Designed to be serious alternatives to more expensive off-the-shelf commodity products, the new RS Pro connection devices are suited to a variety of uses in general electronics, industrial, instrumentation, consumer and medical applications, as well as being suitable for use in harsh environments.

The new RS Pro products include IP68 waterproof connectors featuring robust plastic shells, and with cable and panel mount options that are available in 13, 17 and 21mm panel cut out types. Also introduced are washdown M8 and M12 connectors that are sealed to IP69K and are ideal for use in the food and beverage industry. These connectors are supplied in plastic housing with stainless steel coupling nuts, and offer resistance against chemicals and oil.

Other new additions include: a series of halogen-free cordsets that extend the existing range of halogen-free power cables and are suitable for both office and industrial applications; and white DC-power connectors that are ideal for many medical and consumer applications. Available in 2.1 and 2.5mm sizes, these connectors are rated at 12V/5A and come in solder tag or PCB options. Male and female pluggable PCB terminal blocks, which are approved to UL and VDE standards and come in a range of pitches, have also been introduced.

The new RS Pro connectors and cables are available now from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
