ON Semiconductor to exhibit Technologies for Electric Vehicles at EV China 2019

ON Semiconductor will be demonstrating its solutions and technologies to support vehicle electrification, advanced driver assistance (ADAS), vehicle lighting and body electronics at the 13th Shanghai International Energy-saving and New Energy Automobile Industry Expo (EV China 2019)  to be held in Shanghai during July 3-5.

The automotive sector is moving rapidly towards the adoption of fully electric vehicles (EVs) and incorporating sophisticated ADAS that will ultimately lead to the realization of fully autonomous cars. ON Semiconductor is at the forefront of technology in this area, continually developing and launching devices and integrated systems solutions to enable high-performance electronic content throughout the vehicle that is robust, reliable and fully compliant with the latest automotive standards.

The company will feature a number of demos on its booth at EV China that will provide insight for visitors, helping them to visualize the possibilities for their applications. In the area of vehicle electrification, ON Semiconductor’s demonstrations will showcase the company’s automotive qualified devices for the conversion of DC battery voltage into AC in traction inverters including the recently launchedAFGHL50T65SQDC 650V, 50 A hybrid IGBT with SiC-SBD technology to provide optimum performance for automotive hard switching applications.

Additionally, the company will showcase its Wide Band Gap (WBG) technology through wafer demonstrations of 650V SiC Schottky Diode as well as 1200V, 80 mΩ SiC MOSFET. The AEC-Q101 automotive qualification of SiC Diode and SiC MOSFET devices bring the enabling, wide-ranging performance benefits of wide band gap technology to important high growth end application areas such as Automotive DC-DC and On Board Charger applications for electric vehicles. The SiC devices combine high power density with highly efficient operation that can significantly reduce overall system size due to smaller device footprints and cost.

In support of autonomous driving, the company will showcase both its LiDAR and image sensing technologies that can complement one another in sophisticated ADAS and Autonomous Driving solutions.

Other demos will give visitors a clear understanding of ON Semiconductor’s solutions for EV charging pole, advanced LED lighting as well as body electronics applications such as positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating for PHEVs and EVs, park assist and silent operation cooling fans.
