RECOM announced new Variants of Popular AC/DC with Enhanced Peak Power Ratings

RECOM extends RACM600-L range with 12V and 48V outputs.

The cost-effective RACM600-L series of AC/DCs with 24VDC output from RECOM has now been extended to include 12V and 48VDC outputs with an enhanced peak power rating of 800W for dynamic loads. The format of the range is open frame/U channel in a 7.7″ x 4″ footprint, 1U (1.75″) high to support pure convection cooled ratings of up to 430W continuous output where contact cooling is not an option and 600W continuous with airflow.

Input is universal 80 to 275VAC and an additional “always on” standby output is provided rated 5V at 0.5A. Parts may be paralleled, and gating diodes are included, along with active current sharing. Remote ON/OFF, PSU-Good, and remote sensing signals are provided as is a PMBusTM interface.

Certifications for the RACM600-L include IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 for IT/multimedia and IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI 60601-1 for medical, with a 2MOPP rating and low leakage current for Body Floating (BF) patient-connect applications. Certifications are valid for operation to 5000m for IT/multimedia and to 3000m for medical. EMC ‘Class B’ limits are achieved with a good margin and ’90+’ efficiency rating is met, up to 93%.

Operating temperature is from -20°C to 70°C with derating dependent on airflow and input voltage. Detailed guidance is given in the product data sheet on how to utilize the high peak load rating of 800W with different duty cycles and repetition rates.

Typical applications for these fully protected and rugged AC/DCs are in medical patient monitoring and industrial test and measurement, where reliability and up-time are vital and versatile cooling and mounting options are needed. To support this, high-grade components are used, and ratings are conservative.

Parts include a three-year warranty, and samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorized distributors, or directly from RECOM.
