Shaastra 2026:
DigiKey, the global distribution leader of electronic components and automation products, is sponsoring the IIT Madras Technical Festival, Shaastra 2026, for the second consecutive year. A DigiKey representative will attend Shaastra on January 3 and 4, 2026, in Chennai, and will also lead an industry insights session at IIT Madras on January 4, 2026.
As part of Shaastra 2026, DigiKey will support the Eleckart event, which is designed to test students’ understanding of digital electronics and their problem-solving skills using a minimal set of resources.
“We are excited to be part of IIT Madras’ annual technical festival, Shaastra 2026,” said Y.C. Wang, global academic program director at DigiKey. “This platform provides a unique opportunity to engage with some of the brightest minds who will shape and drive future innovations.”
The Eleckart competition consists of two rounds. In the first round of the competition, participants will demonstrate their ability to design electronic circuit diagrams using DigiKey’s Scheme-it platform. The final round will focus on hands-on circuit building using actual components. Participants will manage points based on the components they select and will create their bill of materials (BOM) using DigiKey’s myLists tool.
During the event, DigiKey representatives will be present on campus and will showcase product demonstrations featuring Arduino and Labsland. Students are encouraged to visit the DigiKey booth to learn more about the company’s extensive portfolio of electronic components, as well as its technical resources, including online conversion calculators, PCB design tools, and other DigiKey design and development tools.
