Squareroot8 (SQRT8), Singapore’s homegrown quantum security innovator, and VIAVI Solutions, a global leader in network test, monitoring, and assurance, announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly develop and deploy quantum-safe security solutions for governments, telecommunications operators, and enterprises across the Asia-Pacific region.
The partnership unites VIAVI’s proven network assurance and fibre monitoring capabilities with Squareroot8’s quantum-safe portfolio including Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) to help organisations build resilient digital infrastructure capable of withstanding quantum-era threats. It prepares for the post-quantum era, aiming to help operators validate, deploy, and scale quantum-safe networks with greater confidence, efficiency, and measurable resilience.
Embedding quantum resilience into the network layer
Under the MOU, VIAVI and Squareroot8 will pursue several strategic initiatives:
- Integration of a quantum-safe platform using VIAVI’s fibre sensing and optical test solutions to validate and support SQRT8’s quantum-security technologies.
- Accelerate adoption of quantum-safe architectures for critical national infrastructure, defence networks, telecoms, and financial institutions.
- Deploy testbeds and pilots to validate real-world performance and accelerate scalable deployment readiness.
- Foster ecosystem partnerships to advance interoperable, quantum-safe digital infrastructures across APAC.
