bitsensing Unveils ADAS Kit To Bring Advanced Driver Warning Features To Commercial Vehicles In Indian Market

ADAS Kit for Indian Commercial Vehicles:

  • It is engineered to upgrade the road safety alerts that drivers of buses, trucks, and other commercial fleet vehicles receive to navigate complex urban driving environments
  • Focus on India is due to the Ministry of Road Transport directive from April 2026 that commercial vehicles must be equipped with BSIS
  • Rather than offering individual components, the product provides a complete safety package for real-world fleet deployment, with it already on the roads of South Korea

bitsensing, a leading radar solution company, launches ADAS Kit aimed specifically at the Indian market, due to incoming Ministry of Road Transport regulations that require commercial vehicles to be equipped with advanced technologies to improve road safety across India, including a Blind Spot Information System (BSIS).

ADAS Kit is an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) solution designed to greatly improve safety and driving awareness in existing commercial vehicles, by providing an extensive range of driver warnings during vehicle operations.

Commercial vehicles have always operated under conditions of heightened risk on our roadways, with drivers encountering larger blind spots, longer braking distances, and frequent and unexpected interactions with pedestrians and other road users. Commercial vehicles are involved in 20% of all fatal road crashes in India.

The Indian market is of importance to bitsensing’s continued expansion, with the company signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IKIO Technologies, a prominent smart infrastructure solutions provider in India in 2025.

  • bitsensing launches ADAS Kit to be a much more affordable driver-assistance system that significantly upgrades the road safety warning systems of commercial vehicles fleets.
  • By fusing two critical road safety sensors – radar and cameras – the ADAS Kit delivers real-time driver warnings for collision risk and blind-spot hazards, enhancing situational awareness and safer driving. It supports drivers during driving, maneuvering, and stationary scenarios.
  • The product is being sold as an aftermarket ADAS solution that can be easily installed and scaled into existing vehicles to aid fleet management.

Built For Commercial Vehicle Environments

  • Integrates advanced ADAS safety warning features: ADAS Kit provides extensive and advanced road safety warnings to drivers, including BSIS (Blid Spot Information System), SVM (Surround View Monitoring), RCW (Rear Collision Warning), FVSA (Front Vehicle Start Alert), FCW (Forward Collision Warning) and MOIS (Moving Off Information System).
  • Why these advanced features matter: These features are designed to help commercial vehicles safely navigate complex urban driving environments where sudden stops, and pedestrian encounters occur frequently.
  • All delivered to drivers in a simple interface in-vehicle: All the safety alerts are provided to drivers in an intuitive interface within their vehicle, enhancing their awareness and supporting safer decision-making in demanding commercial driving environments.
  • Supports UNECE regulatory compliance: ADAS Kit supports key United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) regulations, including R151 (Blind Spot Information System) and R159 (Moving Off Information System), ensuring compliance with international safety standards for commercial vehicles.

Engineered For The Aftermarket:

  • Delivering affordable ADAS to existing commercial fleets: The product is available at a very competitive price point to ensure scalable and cost-effective deployment for modernizing commercial fleets.
  • Quick and easy installation: bitsensing engineered ADAS Kit to specifically have a retrofit-ready architecture, meaning it can be quickly and simply installed, with minimum maintenance subsequently required, resulting in no disruption to commercial fleet operations.

ADAS Kit is built for instant deployment today and rather than offering individual components, it provides a complete, system-level safety package optimized for real-world fleet management and deployment. It does this, critically, through sensor fusion: fusing bitsensing’s radar solution with cameras.

Through this fusion, ADAS Kit maintains high perception of accuracy and fast warning response times even in demanding commercial vehicle environments, enabling precise detection of vehicles, motorcycles and pedestrians.

Real World Application of ADAS Kit

In November 2025, as a soft launch of ADAS Kit, bitsensing announced a collaboration with Koreawide Express Group, a major South Korean transportation company. The initiative has begun by installing bitsensing’s ADAS Kit in Koreawide’s fleet, intercity, and city buses in real road environments, with plans to expand the system to more than 500 buses. The pilot operation is currently taking place on routes in downtown Daegu, with a population of 2,300,000 residents.

Dr. Jae-Eun Lee, CEO of bitsensing, said of the unveiling of ADAS Kit: “Commercial vehicles in India operate in some of the most demanding road environments, yet many fleets still lack access to modern driver warning systems. ADAS Kit was developed to close that gap, delivering a complete, system-level ADAS solution that can be deployed on existing vehicles without redesigning the vehicle platform. By integrating radar, camera, and proven ADAS software, we are making advanced safety warnings more accessible, practical, and scalable for real-world fleet management operations.”

ADAS Kit Product Information

Out of the box, a standard ADAS Kit installation for commercial vehicles includes:

  • Radar sensors (front and/or corner) for continuous object detection, enabled by NXP’s STRX chipset
  • Camera systems to provide visual context
