REFIN2U-S30 – Following the November launch of RECOM’s REFIN2U-S90/24/CL, RECOM is now extending its REFIN family with the new REFIN2U-S30. The latest addition brings the same 2U-width, step-shape DIN rail concept to lower power applications and addresses space-constrained flat-panel distribution boards, particularly in home and building automation systems.
The REFIN2U-S30 is available with nominal 12VDC and 24VDC outputs and delivers 30W continuous power. The units operate from a wide 85-305VAC input range and offer output adjustment ranges of 10.8 to 13.2VDC and 21.6 to 26.4VDC respectively. Typical efficiency reaches up to 90%, while no-load power consumption is below 100mW.
With a width of just 36mm and overall dimensions of 93.5 x 35.5 x 58.5mm, the new series is intended for installations where distribution space is limited. The parts use spring-loaded push-in terminals for solid or stranded wires, enabling tool-less connection without ferrules. Rear mounting flaps also allow direct back-panel installation in any orientation, even without a DIN rail.
The REFIN2U-S30 is specified for 30W output from -40°C to +55°C globally and can operate up to +90°C ambient with derating. Protection functions include short-circuit, over-current and over-voltage protection with hiccup mode and auto-recovery. Reinforced insulation provides 4kVAC isolation from input to output, while the converters are rated for OVC III operation up to 3000m altitude and OVC II up to 5000m.
For system integration, the new parts comply with EN IEC 61204-3 Class B and EN55032 Class B EMC requirements and are certified to UL62368-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 62368-1-19, IEC62368-1 and EN IEC 62368-1. The products are also classified as LPS limited power sources.
“With the introduction of the REFIN2U-S30, RECOM broadens the REFIN2U portfolio within a common mechanical platform, allowing designers to scale across different power levels while maintaining the same compact 2U form factor and installation concept,” comments Michael Schrutka, MSc. product manager AC/DC of RECOM.
