Gujarat the state of Prime minster Modi, got two cities shortlisted in First smart cities list in Smart Cities mission of Indian Government. Ahmedabad and Surate will be developed as a smart city in Gujarat in the first phase of development. Gradually other cities will be added in the list. Dholera Sir is the first city of India to be developed as a smart city in India.
