Karnataka the state of IT and research center got six cities nominated in the list of 100 smart cities in India. Cities which made their place in the list are Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Tumakuru, and Davangere. All these six cities scored more than 85% under the 15-point parameter set by the Centre for inclusion. Most popular and expected cities like Bengluru, Mysore and Kalaburagi were not able to make its place in the list.
