Intel Next Generation Xeon Platinum 9200 Processor

For Breakthrough Platform Performance with up to 56 Processor Cores

Intel introduced its next generation Xeon Platinum 9200 processor series (codename Cooper Lake) as a part of their 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor family to deliver their customers breakthrough platform performance up to 56 processor cores per socket built-in AI training acceleration in standard socketed which would be available in the first half of 2020.

It is built to address the needs of customers to get the highest level of performance in Artificial Intelligence, computing and high density infrastructure. Delivering the breakthrough platform performance within high core-count Cooper Lake processors will leverage the competences built into the Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 series which at present is acquiring a lot of momentum among the world’s most demanding HPC and AI customers which also includes Advania, HLRN and others.

What This Processor Will Offer:

The next-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor platform (codename Cooper Lake) will be the first x86 processor to deliver built-in AI training acceleration through new bfloat 16 support added to Intel Deep Learning Boost (Intel DL Boost). Cooper Lake will also deliver twice the processor core count (up to 56 cores), higher AI inference and training performance as compared to the standard Intel Xeon Platinum 8200 platforms and higher memory bandwidth. It will have platform compatibility with the upcoming 10nm Ice Lake processor.

Why it is important:

Intel Xeon processors have provided the ease and flexibility to pick the right solution for computing needs by delivering the platform and performance leadership for more than 20 years. Next-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Cooper Lake) build off Intel’s uninterrupted server processor track record by delivering leadership performance for customers’ real-world workloads and business application
