Why did Samsung select a former Mercedes-Benz designer to head up its MX design team?

Hubert H. Lee, formerly the Chief Design Officer at Mercedes, has been appointed by Samsung as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Head of its MX (Mobile eXperience) design team.

Hubert H. Lee, the former chief design officer of Mercedes-Benz China, has been appointed by Samsung Electronics as executive vice president (EVP) and leader of its MX (Mobile eXperience) design team. At Mercedes-Benz, Lee was credited with overseeing a large number of design initiatives and received various honours for his management of the company’s design teams in China and the US.

The MX design team, which is in charge of producing Galaxy products like the S Series, Z Series, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Watch, and more, will be under Lee’s direction in his new position at Samsung. ALSO READ: Samsung will introduce a new refrigerator with a larger screen at CES 2023.

According to the firm, his creative viewpoint will “define the look and feel of Galaxy, building on the distinctive design ethos that users know and love.”

Samsung is renowned for producing some of the most exquisite goods in the world, with designs that have revolutionised the mobile sector, according to Lee.

He continued, “I am pleased to join a firm that is at the forefront of mobile innovation and head the team in charge of developing innovative mobile experiences through the art of design.
