Growth of Artificial Intelligence in form of SOPHIA and AIBO

SOPHIA a name which came across many times while I  searched for Artificial Intelligence and humanoid robots, but my search took a pause when I got to know that “she” ( Now I Should use it) got Saudi Arabia citizenship.

Let us know Sophia more closely:

Sophia is a humanoid robot with unique features developed by Hanson Robotics Limited (Hong Kong).

Sophia is embedded with artificial intelligence, sensors, algorithms, visual data processing, Google Chrome’s voice recognition technology and facial recognition.

Her human like skin is made up of patented silicon.  She can show more than 62 facial expressions. Her eyes consist of camera which is paired with algorithm.

She has a wide range of sensors which helps her to detect sound and distance from people.

Though Sophia came into existence in April 19th 2015 but in 2017 she has emerged as most intelligent humanoid robot by Hanson Robotics. She is better, smarter and more responsive than her earlier versions.

Aibo Dog RobotIf we separately talk about AI based applications, it’s already serving humans as assistance may be in form of algorithms or application specified services.  Now recently SONY has also activated its dog named AIBO. AIBO is a pet dog with artificial intelligence which behaves as a real dog. AIBO is upgraded with new sensing and movement technologies. AIBO can detect word of praise and smiles. His eyes comprised of OLED displays which helps him to detect diverse expressions. AIBO is enriched with advanced AI and backed with cloud computing.

It’s always a matter of thought and Steven hawking and Elon Musk views give it a concrete reason to think will Artificial intelligence become the end of human race? Earlier the growing advancements in AI with robotics have made people to think about losing their jobs. Unemployment is still emerged as major concern due to robotics because of their 24 hour working and that too with precision which humans lack.  Now Sophia and AIBO amazing advancements of artificial intelligence have made us think again.
