Newest version of HARTING PushPull connectors for industrial applications

Second generation PushPull devices deliver high flexibility, more secure connection and higher reliability for the Industry 4.0 environment

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), a global multi-channel distributor, has announced availability of the HARTING PushPull V4 series of connectors, which target a wide range of industrial applications.

The PushPull industrial range covers the gamut of connectivity from data to signal to power, while also offering a high degree of modular flexibility, which make the series ideal for meeting the needs of the Industry 4.0 environment, delivering quick and simple handling along with robustness and a wide range of uses. For example, industrial production processes are increasingly dependent on modular and flexible solutions especially in the areas of cabling and termination techniques. Production downtime caused by conversion and servicing work can create significant costs. However, if industrial production needs to be converted or even relocated, the PushPull system can very quickly disconnect and reconnect industrial processes.

This second generation of PushPull V4 comes with a new facelift and further advantages. For example, it features a new housing material that has been designed to provide protection from extremely aggressive chemicals; these can include cutting oils used for lathing or milling machines.

In addition, the new variant offers more security with its plug-in connection lock. This is an additional rotation lock that secures the PushPull locking element following insertion, which can deliver improved process reliability. The new PushPull also has only one cable clamp, rather than three previously, and now has a larger cable diameter ranging from 4.5 to 10mm, helping industrial customers to deal with leaks or inadequate strain relief.

The series also features a set of two different colour markings. The first colour coding delivers easy plugging, as it provides a quick indication of correct alignment between connector and socket. The second colour coding helps to ensure proper assignment, especially in the case where an application has many PushPull connectors installed side by side, therefore preventing incorrect wiring and saving time during installation.

The HARTING PushPull V4 series of connectors is now shipping from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
