Silicon Labs’ Wireless Gecko Series 2 Modules at Mouser

Mouser Electronics is now stocking the BGM220P and BGM220S Bluetooth modules from Silicon Labs. Based on the Silicon Labs EFR32BG22 Wireless Gecko system-on-chips (SoCs), the BGM220 modules are a pre-certified, Bluetooth 5.2 solution for wireless networking in applications such as portable medical, connected home, wellness devices, asset tags, and beacons.

Silicon Labs BGM220P and BGM220S modules, available from Mouser Electronics, are built to meet the performance, security, and reliability requirements of battery-powered Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The modules deliver the exceptional RF range and performance, future-proof capability with support for OTA firmware updates, enhanced security features, and low energy consumption.

The BGM220 modules support Bluetooth 5.2 Low Energy protocols, with available direction finding and 1M, 2M, and LE Coded PHYs, as well as support for a Bluetooth mesh low-power node. The modules incorporate a low-power wireless SoC with a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 core with DSP instruction and floating-point unit for efficient signal processing. The SoC offers 512 Kbytes of flash, 32 Kbytes of RAM, and a 2.4 GHz radio with up to 8 dBm (BGM220P) or 6 dBm (BGM220S) of transmit power.

The BGM220P module comes in a 12.9 mm × 15.0 mm × 2.2 mm package, while the BGM220S module offers a space-saving 6 mm × 6 mm × 1.1 mm footprint. Both modules are FCC, CE, IC/ISEDC, MIC/TELEC, and KCC certified and consume just 4.3 mA in 1 Mbps receive mode and 4.8 mA at 0 dB in transmit mode, with a 1.40 μA DeepSleep mode.
