RACM1200-V Baseplate-Cooled fan-less Power Supply

RECOM announces the RACM1200-V baseplate-cooled fan-less power supply with 1200W peak power capability & industrial plus medical certification

RECOM is extending its portfolio with a Europe-designed and manufactured baseplate cooled, highly efficient power supply series, designated RACM1200-V. The compact, single output AC/DC converters are just 228 x 96.2 x 400mm (9” x 3.8” x 1.6”) in size and can deliver 800 watts continuously with the baseplate held to 80°C while 1200 watts is available for up to ten seconds or continuously with airflow. Input is universal 85-264VAC, dip-switch adjustable outputs available are nominal 24, 48 followed by 36VDC soon and efficiency is 95% peak. An isolated and ‘always on’ 5V/1A auxiliary supply is provided along with an adjustable 5 to 12V/1A system fan output, with all outputs isolated from ground to 2kVAC for PoE applications. The power supplies hold safety certifications for industrial, ITE and medical with 2 x MOPP isolation and low leakage current for BF applications. The products also meet Ecodesign requirements for standby losses and comply with radiated and conducted ‘Class B’ EMI emissions limits.

An integrated microprocessor implements comprehensive protection features and monitors output current, temperature and other parameters to provide ‘smart’ control and automatic protections in the case of improper use or overloading.

Product functionality and monitoring parameters can be factory-set in firmware. Settings in the field through an optional PB Bus interface will be available from Q2/21.

RECOMs AC/DC Product Manager, Michael Schrutka comments, “We’re proud that these new power supplies have been designed and are manufactured in volume in RECOM European sites with more ranges to come. The wide range of programmable functions, high power density and fan-less operation make the product very suitable for a variety of high-availability applications including medical”.
