BSU, Inc. recently announced that the company, a growing EMS provider in Austin, Texas, has achieved IPC-620 Certification to support its growing cable assembly business (RF, shielded, unshielded, twisted pair, coax, flex, and others).
IPC A-620 Certification covers inspection and assembly criteria for all three classes of cable and wire harness assembly and is based on the IPC/WHMA-A-620, “Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies”, the most widely used inspection specification for the cable and wire harness assembly industry.
In making the announcement, Ahmad Chamseddine, President, said, “We believe that this certification demonstrates our commitment to our customer’s requirements and other quality assurance initiatives.” She added, “This growing segment of our business has seen a 200% increase in orders over the last year and continues to fuel company growth. Specifically, we have seen an increase in three areas. The first is cable harnesses and custom wire harnesses supporting defense, aerospace, and telecommunications customers. The second segment is an increase in military-grade cable assemblies including ruggedized, overmolded data cables, RF coaxial and smart cables, and the third is in industrial applications such as fiber optics, ribbon assemblies, direct attach sleeving and discrete assemblies.”
