Mouser stocks Silicon Labs’s New Series 2 Wireless SoCs

Mouser Electronics is now stocking the BG24 and MG24 Series 2 Wireless System-on-Chip (SoC) devices from Silicon Labs. Featuring 2.4 GHz RF, low-power consumption, and an AI/ML hardware accelerator, the wireless SoCs offer an ideal solution for mesh Internet of Things (IoT) wireless connectivity using Matter, OpenThread, and Zigbee protocols. The new wireless SoCs support a range of smart home, lighting, and building automation applications, including gateways and hubs, sensors, location services, and predictive maintenance.

The Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 Wireless SoCs, now available at Mouser, feature an Arm® Cortex®-M33 microcontroller offering up to 78 MHz, 1.5 Mbytes of Flash, and 256 Kbytes of RAM. The SoCs’ exceptional energy efficiency and AI/ML hardware accelerator ensure reliable performance for the present and future of IoT device design. The EFR32MG24 SoCs also offer an extensive collection of MCU peripherals, including two digital-to-analog converters, up to 32 general purpose I/O pins with output state retention and asynchronous interrupts, two 32-bit timer/counters with three compare/capture/PWM channels, and two 32-bit real-time counters. The Series 2 wireless SoCs offer robust performance, boasting an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

The EFR32BG24 Wireless SoCs feature Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE 5.3) and Bluetooth Mesh connectivity, exceptional low power wireless performance, and extensive security capabilities. The devices’ low system energy consumption offers 4.4 mA RX current, 5 mA TX current @ 0 dBm output power, 19.1 mA TX current @ 10 dBm output power, and 156.8 mA TX current @ 19.5 dBm output power. The SoCs’ security features include hardware cryptographic acceleration, secure debug unlock, true random number generator, and secure key management with PUF.
