Mouser Stocks Wide Selection from Nordic Semiconductor

Mouser Electronics is an authorized global distributor for Nordic Semiconductor, a leading supplier of low power, high performance wireless technologies and development tools. Since 2011, Mouser’s partnership with Nordic Semiconductor continues to expand Mouser’s customers’ product development process, for industrial, medical and consumer wireless applications.

Mouser now stocks over 113 different Nordic Semiconductor products, including the new nRF7002 Companion IC (Integrated Circuit). The nRF7002, provides seamless connectivity and Wi-Fi® based locationing utilizing Wi-Fi 6’s throughput and infrastructure, while coexisting with other protocols like Bluetooth® LE (Low Energy), Thread, or Zigbee®. The nRF7002 Companion IC natively integrates with Nordic Semiconductor’s award-winning nRF52® and nRF53 Series multiprotocol Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) and the nRF9160 cellular IoT (LTE-M/NB-IoT) System-in-Package (SiP), but can also be used with non-Nordic host devices. The nRF7002 is ideal for implementing low-power, Wi-Fi based locationing with nRF Cloud Location Services, while the nRF9160™ SiP complements GPS based or cell-based locationing. Nordic Semiconductor’s unified software development kit, featuring Nordic’s Connect SDK (Software Development Kit), and the nRF7002-DK 802.11 Wi-Fi development kit, makes it easier and quicker to get started on nRF7002-based IoT projects.

Want to prototype a cellular IoT proof-of-concept without building custom hardware? Nordic’s Thingy:91™ multi-sensor prototyping platform, also available at Mouser, is the ideal solution. The Thingy:91 is built around the nRF9160 System-in-Package (SiP) with a dedicated LTE modem enabling LTE-M, NB-IoT and GNSS connectivity, while the nRF52840 SoC board controller provides Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth Mesh®, Thread, Zigbee and proprietary 2.4 GHz connectivity. Incorporating a fully programmable Arm® Cortex®-M33 application processor with dedicated flash and RAM, the Thingy:91 enables endless flexibility in application development.

For maximum processing capability, the Nordic nRF5340 Multicore System on Chip (SoC) integrates two fully programmable Arm® Cortex®-M33 processors, advanced security features, a range of peripherals, and a multiprotocol 2.4GHz transceiver that supports BluetoothLow Energy, ANT™, and 802.15.4. The application processor is optimized for performance and is clocked at up to 128 MHz. It has 1 MB Flash, 512 KB RAM, a floating-point unit (FPU), an 8 KB 2-way associative cache and DSP instruction capabilities. The network processor is clocked at 64 MHz and is optimized for low power and efficiency. It has 256 KB Flash and 64 KB RAM. A variety of analog and digital peripheral functionality permits single-chip implementation for a wide range of applications.

The nRF21540 DB development bundle includes the nRF21540 development kit (DK) and the nRF21540 evaluation kit (EK) with the nRF21540 RF front end module (FEM). The nRF21540™ DK is an excellent solution to develop products that require the range extension capabilities or link budget improvements provided by the nRF21540 RF FEM. Furthermore, the nRF21540 EK connects to lab equipment via SMA connectors to monitor the RF FEM’s performance.
