The Indian government has given the green light to the much-anticipated HCL-Foxconn Semiconductor Plant in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. With an investment of ₹3,706 crore, this project marks a major leap forward in India’s journey toward self-reliance in chip manufacturing.
This is the first semiconductor unit in Uttar Pradesh and the sixth under the India Semiconductor Mission. The plant will focus on assembling, testing, and packaging chips that power everything from smartphones to cars.
