Amphenol Industrial Operations introduces two new liquid cooling connector series engineered to enhance thermal management in high-reliability electronic systems. The UQD Series features a quick connect mechanism, while the UQDB Series is designed for blind mate applications. Both series meet the latest Open Compute Project (OCP) specifications for Universal Quick Disconnect and Universal Quick Disconnect Blind-Mate designs.
These compact, leak-free connectors are optimized for use in liquid-cooled environments such as AI data centers, energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Each connector incorporates aerospace-grade sealing materials and a bidirectional shut-off valve with dry break functionality to eliminate accidental drips or spillage. Stainless steel shells and internal components offer corrosion resistance and extended durability in harsh operating conditions.
The UQD Series uses an automatic steel ball-lock system to enable fast and secure push-pull connections. Available in four standard OCP sizes—UQD02, UQD04, UQD06, and UQD08—the series offers both standard sockets and versions with a flat-design latch button to minimize the risk of accidental actuation.
The UQDB Series supports blind mating with 1 millimeter of radial compensation, allowing the connector to auto-align and seal during installation. It also follows the four OCP-defined sizes—UQDB02, UQDB04, UQDB06, and UQDB08—providing a simplified, tool-free integration process for tight-space applications.
Both series offer multiple termination options, including barbed and threaded ends, and are available in inline or right-angle configurations. They support a range of coolants such as deionized water, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol. The connectors operate reliably between 0 and 0.6 MPa, with safe pressure range ratings up to 2 MPa.
With the introduction of the UQD and UQDB Series, Amphenol Industrial Operations expands its portfolio into liquid cooling solutions for advanced thermal management across critical power and data applications.
