Life Metrics Click is a new biometrics sensors Click board™ from MIKROE, the embedded solutions company that dramatically cuts development time by providing innovative hardware and software products based on proven standards. The compact Click add-on boards enable developers to rapidly provide proof-of-concept, then prototype and code new embedded projects. Life Metrics Click provides advanced multi-vital sign monitoring and evaluation in biomedical, wearable and health-focused embedded applications.
Comments Nebojsa Matic, CEO of MIKROE: “This new Click board is ideal for wearable health devices, fitness and wellness monitoring systems, medical research platforms, biometric sensing solutions, and embedded applications requiring real-time vital sign monitoring. It is part of our 665+ strong family of sensors Click boards and over 875 projects – with working code – featuring the Life Metrics Click can be found on MIKROE’s embedded projects platform, EmbeddedWiki.”
Life Metrics Click is based on the AS7058A multi-vital sign AFE (analog front-end) from ams OSRAM, integrated with the SFH 7074 optical biomonitoring sensor. The board supports photoplethysmography (PPG), electrocardiogram (ECG), bioelectrical impedance (BioZ) and electrodermal activity (EDA) measurements, complemented by precise temperature sensing via the AS6223A sensor and motion tracking using the LIS2DH12 three-axis accelerometer, while dedicated ECG connectors, interrupt signalling, 1.8V low-noise architecture and bidirectional level shifting ensure reliable and flexible system integration through the I2C interface.
Life Metrics Click is a recent addition to MIKROE’s 1975-strong mikroBUS™-enabled Click board family. The board also features the ClickID function which enables automatic identification by the host system, simplifying use. Devices can be used on any host system supporting the mikroBUS™ standard, and come with the mikroSDK open-source libraries, offering excellent flexibility for evaluation and customization.
