AUMOVIO BMW Brake Technology Partnership Expands with €1 Billion Supply and Development Agreement

AUMOVIO BMW Brake Technology Partnership – AUMOVIO and the BMW Group have entered into a far-reaching, long-term supply and development agreement to strengthen their business relationship and thereby expand their technology partnership. The focus is on collaborative series projects for state-of-the-art brake technologies and electronics solutions. These include, among others, the integrated brake system MK C2 as well as components and systems such as brake calipers and further electronic control solutions for future vehicle platforms. The planned order volume amounts to more than one billion euros.

“The agreement with the BMW Group is an important step for us to strengthen our business relationship. It demonstrates confidence in our innovative brake technology and at the same time motivates us to further advance the partnership between our companies and jointly shape the future of mobility,” says Philipp von Hirschheydt, CEO of AUMOVIO.

For the MK C2, the companies have agreed to expand series deliveries through the mid-2030s. The MK C2 is an integrated one-box brake system from AUMOVIO that combines the master cylinder, brake booster and control functions such as the anti-lock braking system and electronic stability control in a compact and lightweight module. The system increases functionality and availability while also supporting key requirements of modern vehicle platforms, such as faster autonomous brake pressure build-up, efficient regenerative braking and functions for highly automated driving.

As part of the agreement, both companies will amicably settle all pending legal proceedings in connection with an integrated brake system that AUMOVIO, formerly Continental’s Automotive group sector, produced for the BMW Group, through payments by AUMOVIO totaling 350 million euros.
