Lynred constellr Partnership – Lynred’s infrared detection technologies will contribute to the next-generation capabilities of Constellr’s future constellation, which is scheduled for deployment from 2028 onwards.
This cooperation will strengthen the European industrial foundation of Constellr’s future constellation, while contributing to the commercial-scale deployment of high-performance infrared technologies. constellr follows a multi-supplier approach across Europe, with payload and sensor configurations selected per mission and customer requirement.
Beyond this initial cooperation, Lynred and constellr intend to collaborate on new detection solutions and advanced infrared architectures for future generations of satellites. The objective is to significantly improve spatial resolution, swath and revisit frequency, while maintaining cost, size, power consumption and industrialisation levels compatible with the deployment of large commercial constellations.
This long-term cooperation will combine Lynred’s expertise in critical, high-performance infrared technologies with constellr’s ability to design, deploy and commercialise Earth observation capabilities at constellation scale.
This partnership is one element of constellr’s roadmap, which foresees the deployment of several dozen infrared satellites over the coming years to address a growing range of applications. Target markets will be dual-use, spanning both commercial and institutional customers, particularly in defence and security, critical infrastructure, energy, agriculture, urban resilience and environmental monitoring.
In parallel, Constellr’s roadmap will contribute to Lynred’s development in the New Space market by creating opportunities for larger-scale serial production and supporting the industrial ramp-up of advanced infrared technologies for space applications.
