Give your next interface a sense of touch

Azoteq’s sensing ICs detect touch, proximity and movement, while its haptic range can drive the feedback that lets a user feel a response. See the technology with Astute Group at electronica 2026 and explore what a more tactile interface could bring to your product.

Think of a smartwatch confirming a selection with a short pulse, a trackpad acknowledging a press or a gaming control responding beneath the user’s fingers. These small physical responses become part of how people understand and use a device.

Selected IQS39x devices combine capacitive or inductive sensing with a driver for a linear resonant actuator. The sensor detects the input; an external actuator produces the vibration. Bringing sensing and drive functions together can reduce the number of separate components needed in a compact interface. The actuator and mechanical design then shape how the response feels.

Azoteq’s broader sensing portfolio reaches into other interactions. Headphone wear detection can trigger changes to playback or power settings when a headset is put on or removed. In industrial equipment, inductive sensing can detect a metal object’s presence, movement or rotation, providing information about a physical action or position.
