Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the NBT2000 OPTIGA NBT NFC Bridge tag from Infineon Technologies. The NBT2000 is a ready-to-use bridge tag for single-tap authentication and secured configuration of IoT devices. The NBT2000 supports a range of applications, including product activation, device pairing, fault diagnostics, shared mobility solutions, and smart home devices.
The Infineon Technologies NBT2000 OPTIGA NBT NFC bridge tag, now available at Mouser, features a contactless passive Near Field Communication (NFC) interface and an Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) target interface for high-performance NFC-to-I2C communication. The NBT2000 bridge tag is NFC Forum Type 4 certified and includes an 8KB file system with file-based password protection, one-way authentication using ECDSA asymmetric cryptography, and symmetric AES-128-CMAC-based cryptography. OPTIGA Authenticate NBT ensures ultra-fast data exchange, even at high volumes.
The NBT2000 offers three operation modes: authentication, pass-through, and asynchronous data transfer. The bridge tag’s power supply options include an external NFC field or an external power supply (VCC or GND). The NBT2000 bridge tag operates from -40°C to +85°C and has a +105°C maximum ambient temperature rating for I2C communication. The bridge tag can be used for applications such as secured configuration of electronic devices without a display, activation of shared mobility vehicles, and data logging on patient health monitors.
Infineon Technologies offers two development tools for the NBT2000 bridge tag: the OPTIGA Authenticate NBT development kit and the OPTIGA Authenticate NBT development shield, both available from Mouser. Both development tools include pre-tuned antennas, a comprehensive software package, and an NFC-I2C bridge tag. The development kit is an “all-you-need” bundle, where the development shield is designed to be used with an Arduino UNO-compatible microcontroller board.
