We are excited to announce that NXP’s EasyEVSE Development Platform has been honored with the Green Mobility Award at the prestigious Automotive Today event in Bucharest. This award recognizes and celebrates innovation and sustainability in the mobility sector. This award is dedicated to acknowledging the solutions that measurably reduce environmental impact and advance responsible, circular mobility practices across the electric vehicle (EV) charging ecosystem.
Why This Award Matters
The Green Mobility Award champions the importance of NXP’s focus on reducing the global impact of the carbon footprint through resource optimization and efficiency, re-usage and scalability. Winning this award signifies NXP’s commitment to sustainable electrification and our mission to advance a cleaner, smarter future for mobility.

About the NXP EasyEVSE platform
As EVs become mainstream, the demand for smart, secure and interoperable charging infrastructure is on the rise. This comes with challenges for developers such as implementing standards for EV charging, ensuring accurate energy billing, enabling seamless connectivity and protecting user related information from attacks. Enter the EasyEVSE Development Platform—a modular system solution designed to accelerate the development of a safe, secure, efficient, sustainable, reliable and scalable EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) system empowering developers to quickly prototype and deploy features such as:
- ISO 15118 support to enable Plug and Charge for a seamless user experience and bi-directional power transfer for vehicle-to-grid (V2G-V2H-V2L) applications
- Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) to communicate between the EVSE and backend service provider
- Secure connectivity using the built-in EdgeLock SE050 secure element to ensure robust cybersecurity
- Cloud integration to support secure device-to-cloud and cloud-to-device communication
- NXP’s metrology MCU and modifiable pre-certified metrology software for accurate energy billing and power line monitoring required for MID and Eichrecht applications
- One-tap near field communication (NFC) authentication with high security contactless integrated circuits (IC) to simplify and secure seamless user access and payment
- Wireless connectivity and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.2 for fast and reliable communication
The platform provides integrated hardware, software and step-by-step instructions to help developers quickly simulate and build EV charging systems quickly, reducing efforts toward integration and time-to-market while ensuring compliance with global standards.

Driving Sustainability Forward
Through powering bi-directional charging, EasyEVSE allows EV batteries to act as energy sources, supporting grid stability and renewable energy integration. This capability is crucial for load balancing and reducing reliance on fossil fuels during peak demand periods. Implementing advanced charge or discharge logic that factors battery conditions, grid pricing and demand—as well as user behavior—impacts the battery’s state of health (SoH) and ageing.
What’s Next?
NXP’s contributions will continue the innovation in the EV ecosystem, delivering solutions that combine efficiency, security, reliability, scalability and sustainability. Our goal is to help customers, partners and developers create the charging infrastructure that accelerates the transition to net-zero.
