Based on the nRF5340 system-on-chip (SOC) by Nordic Semiconductor, the PAN1783 and PAN1783A modules offer advanced wireless capabilities with improved sensitivity. The PAN1783/A modules excel in applications, such as advanced computer peripherals, wearables, wireless audio devices, and asset tracking. The Panasonic PAN1783/A modules, now available at Mouser, feature dual Cortex-M33 processors, with one serving as an application processor and the other as a network processor. This feature enables the PAN1783/A modules to operate in standalone mode, eliminating the need for an external processor and saving space, as well as reducing complexity and costs. The modules’ Bluetooth 5.4 features include isochronous channels and LE audio, high throughput with LE 2M, long-range with LE Coded, and mesh networking. The PAN1783/A modules also support 802.15.4 ZigBee and Thread. The PAN1783 features an onboard chip antenna, while the PAN1783A includes an RF-bottom pad for external antenna connection.
The PAN1783/A modules support angle of arrival (AoA) and angle of departure (AoD) direction finding and Type 2 Near Field Communication (NFC-A) for simplified pairing and payment solutions (an external antenna is required).
