Pickering Group, the company with over 55 years of expertise in switching for automated electronics test and verification, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its WOFE (Whole Owned Foreign Enterprise) in China. Pickering Instruments (Beijing) Limited, which opened a decade ago, delivers localized marketing, sales assistance, and technical support to customers and partners in mainland China.
“We were excited to open our office in Beijing 10 years ago to bring local support to our important customers and partners in China within their time zone,” said Joe Woodford, Director of Global Sales & Marketing at Pickering Group. “In response to growing demand from the electronics manufacturing sector in the region, our expanded presence allowed us to provide improved business intelligence, local on-the-ground support, and the ability to cater to local customers with customized sales and marketing programs.”
The 2015 opening of the Beijing office brought Pickering’s international offices to a total of seven, spanning the United States, France, Germany, Sweden, and the Czech Republic, in addition to its United Kingdom headquarters. In 2025, the company added a new office in Penang, Malaysia, and maintains additional representation in countries throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Pickering leadership recently joined the local China team and key partners at a summit in Shanghai to review and celebrate the ten-year journey of Pickering in China – and to mark the launch of its 2026 strategic plan, opening with a welcome from Ms. Jiao Jinxia, General Manager at Pickering China: “Pickering continues to work with local partners to create value built on technical expertise and customer trust, tailoring solutions based on in-depth insight into customers’ technical pain points. With more than 55 years of industry experience in switching and signal path, we continue to highlight the advantages of reliability and long life cycles.”
Joe Woodford, Director of Global Sales & Marketing (Group), and Kimberly Otte, Global Marketing Manager (Pickering Interfaces), outlined the “2026 Pickering Company Strategy” and “Marketing & Sales Plan”, before Wang Qi, Product & Marketing Development Manager at Pickering China, shared a “2026 New Product Preview”, explaining how the company is building on its core relay, switching and signal path expertise to expand its portfolio across RF & microwave, simulation for sensors, loads and batteries, instrumentation, chassis, controllers, and cables and connectors.
Alongside its valued system integration partners, Suzhou Dezhi Electronics and Shanghai Qianshun Science & Technology Co., Pickering China also outlined its business strategy and platform advantages across both functional and HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) test, illustrated with a range of case studies and application use cases.
Noman Hussain, Vice President of Software & Strategic Business Development, and Robert King, Reed Relays Product Manager, also reviewed several advanced relay products launched this year:
- The award-winning ultra-high-density Series 125, which set a new benchmark for packing density with the industry’s smallest DPST (2 Form A) reed relays, has now added 1 Form A, 1 Form B, 1 Form C, and coaxial options, switching up to 1 amp, 20 watts, while stacking on a compact 5mm x 5mm pitch.
- Series 600, the industry’s most customizable high-voltage reed relay, offers over 2,500 different combinations of rating and connection options. Its modular design architecture allows engineers to precisely specify the rating parameters and connection options they require—with up to 20kV stand-off across the switch contacts and up to 25kV stand-off switch to coil.
The day concluded with recognition awards for three leading partners, before Ms. Jiao Jinxia summarized: “Pickering is the only switching and signal path provider that offers comprehensive manufacturing capabilities from components to systems—but the best results are achieved through cooperation. Pickering China will continue to move forward side-by-side with local partners, integrating global technology and local services to serve Chinese customers together—maximizing value creation.”
