ELCIA Appoints New Leadership Team to Boost Electronics and Semiconductor Ecosystem Growth

The Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) has announced a change in its leadership as the association steps up efforts to support the growth of India’s electronics manufacturing and semiconductor ecosystem. As part of the transition, V Sriram Kumar has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of ELCIA. He previously served as President of the association and brings more than three decades of industry experience. Sriram spent a significant part of his career with FANUC India and has been associated with ELCIA for over 25 years in various honorary capacities.

In his role as CEO, Mr Sriram will lead ELCIA’s strategic initiatives, deepen industry collaboration and build long-term institutional capabilities aligned with national priorities in electronics manufacturing and semiconductors.

The leadership change comes at a time when ELCIA is expanding its role from industry representation to active ecosystem development. With India placing increased emphasis on electronics, semiconductors and deep-technology innovation, the association has launched multiple initiatives to support industry, startups and academia.

Among these is the Electronics Centre of Excellence (e-COE), focused on enabling sensor development in India. The initiative aims to catalyse indigenous IP creation while supporting the design, development and commercialisation of sensors for domestic and global markets.

ELCIA is also strengthening talent development and innovation infrastructure through the Electronics Skill Development Centre (ESDC) and the ELCIA Tech Hub. The Tech Hub adopts a cluster-based model to promote co-development, prototyping and collaboration between industry players, startups and research institutions.

Sujaya Shashikiran, President, ELCIA

As part of the leadership change, Sujaya Shashikiran, Executive Chairperson of Hical Private Limited, has assumed the role of President of Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA). She will work closely with the Executive Committee and the association’s operational team to provide strategic oversight and governance as ELCIA expands its programmes and industry initiatives.

Speaking on his appointment, V Sriram Kumar stated that ELCIA is entering a phase where focused execution and measurable outcomes are essential. He noted that India’s growing emphasis on electronics manufacturing and semiconductors creates significant opportunity, and that the association will prioritise building collaborative platforms and partnerships to strengthen innovation, capability development and sustainable growth across the ecosystem.

Sujaya Shashikiran said ELCIA has played an important role in the development of the Electronics City ecosystem. As President, she expressed her commitment to working alongside the Executive Committee and the CEO to reinforce the association’s initiatives and ensure they generate meaningful value for industry stakeholders.

With the new leadership structure in place, ELCIA underscores its intent to move beyond policy advocacy toward active ecosystem development and long-term capability building within India’s electronics and semiconductor sectors.
