Innodisk DDR5 8000 RDIMM – Innodisk has launched its industrial-grade DDR5 8000 RDIMM, delivering data transfer rates of 8000 MT/s and capacities from 16GB to 64GB for compute-intensive applications including edge AI and enterprise servers. Astute Group, an authorised, franchised distributor and design-in partner for Innodisk, provides access to the manufacturer’s DRAM, storage and embedded computing portfolio, including server memory and CXL memory solutions.
The new DDR5 8000 RDIMM was announced by Innodisk on 29 September 2026 as the company expands its DDR5 portfolio for applications requiring higher memory throughput. According to Innodisk’s announcement, the module reaches 8000 MT/s, representing an 11.1% increase over the previous generation.
Innodisk says the module addresses increasing memory bandwidth requirements in edge AI and high-performance computing, where moving large datasets efficiently can affect system performance. The DDR5 8000 RDIMM uses registered ECC architecture to improve signal quality and error correction, while supporting workloads including large language models, generative AI, digital twins and telehealth.
64GB capacity and protection for industrial systems
The DDR5 8000 RDIMM product specification lists capacities up to 64GB per module and an operating case temperature range of 0°C to 95°C.
The module is described by Innodisk as “Registered for Enhancing Clock, Command, and Control Signals”, with registration used to support clock, command and control signal integrity.
Protection features are also built into the module. Innodisk specifies Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diodes and an eFuse to protect against abnormal voltage conditions. The TVS diode provides overvoltage and ESD protection, while the eFuse interrupts the circuit when its load is exceeded during an overvoltage condition.
The modules also use 30μ” gold fingers and anti-sulfuration protection. Innodisk describes the DDR5 8000 series as “Fully tested and optimized for data-intensive applications in AI and edge computing”.
The wider DDR5 8000 family includes CUDIMM, CSODIMM, ECC CUDIMM, ECC CSODIMM and RDIMM configurations, with capacities ranging from 8GB to 64GB. Innodisk states that the series is compatible with the latest Intel and AMD processors.
Astute supplies Innodisk memory and storage technologies
Astute Group’s Innodisk portfolio Innodisk portfolio covers industrial embedded DRAM, server memory, customised DRAM and wide-temperature memory, alongside flash storage and embedded peripherals.
The portfolio also includes customised DRAM for application-specific requirements and robust XR-DIMM memory for aerospace and defence applications. Innodisk’s wide-temperature memory range is specified for operation from -40°C to 85°C and is aimed at in-vehicle, outdoor kiosk, aerospace and defence applications.
Astute also supplies Innodisk CXL Memory Modules for AI server and HPC applications. The Astute portfolio page states that the CXL module provides up to 64GB per module, supports memory pooling and uses PCIe Gen5 with eight lanes, providing 32GB/s of bandwidth. Compatibility includes Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC Gen 4 or higher processors.
Beyond memory, Astute’s Innodisk offering includes industrial SSDs and flash storage across CFast, CFexpress, CompactFlash, mSATA, M.2, SATADOM, SD, MicroSD, ServerDOM, USB and other form factors. Embedded peripherals include AI accelerator cards, communications cards, disk-array cards and cameras and vision products.
This gives Astute customers access to a wider Innodisk technology portfolio where memory, storage and embedded computing requirements need to be considered together during a system design.

Electronica 2026 puts memory and edge AI in focus
The DDR5 8000 RDIMM launch comes ahead of Electronica 2026 in Munich, where Astute Group will exhibit from 10–13 November.
For systems being developed around AI processing, the choice of memory now sits alongside processor selection, storage architecture and thermal requirements. Innodisk’s move to 8000 MT/s RDIMM capacity up to 64GB provides another option for designs where memory throughput and capacity are part of the performance requirement.
Innodisk plans to expand the DDR5 8000 family further in Q1 2027 with CUDIMM, CSODIMM, ECC CUDIMM and ECC CSODIMM products. The RDIMM launch therefore establishes the first part of a broader 8000 MT/s DDR5 portfolio.
The company’s GM of Embedded DRAM Division, Samson Chang, said the DDR5 8000 series helps customers “overcome memory bandwidth bottlenecks” while providing a route to system upgrades through increased memory performance.
For current and new designs, Astute provides an authorised route to Innodisk’s memory, storage and embedded technologies, supported by technical and sourcing expertise across its franchised component portfolio.
Damian Semple, Franchise Marketing Manager, comments: “Higher-speed memory is becoming a more direct part of system performance decisions as AI workloads place greater demands on data movement. Having access to both current DDR5 and complementary CXL, storage and embedded solutions gives customers more options when specifying the memory architecture and supply route for a new design.”
