Mouser-Sponsored Vaillante Rebellion Preps for Belgium Race

Vaillante Rebellion

May 4, 2017 – With a strong second-place finish at the season opener April 16 in Britain, the Mouser-sponsored and newly renamed Vaillante Rebellion racing team heads to Belgium’s 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on May 6 with something to prove in the LMP2 Class. Rebellion ran away with the crown in the LMP1 Privateer Class last year.

With a new racing class and a new name (through a partnership with the producers of the famed fictional driver from French comics, Michel Vaillant), the Vaillante Rebellion No. 31 car piloted by Nick Prost, Bruno Senna and Julien Canal fell just short of the win in the first race of the season. The Vaillante Rebellion No. 13, driven by Nelson Piquet Jr., Mathias Beche and David Heinemeier Hansson claimed 9th place in the race.

“It’s a great start for us, especially since we are discovering the LMP2 category this year,” said Bart Hayden, Vaillante Rebellion team manager. “In the No. 31, the trio was able to perform the passes correctly. Overall, the season is starting well, and we are satisfied with this first promising performance.”

Mouser is once again partnering with valued supplier LEMO, a global leader in the design and production of precision custom connection solutions, to sponsor Vaillante Rebellion for the 2017 season. Mouser distributes the full line of quality LEMO connector solutions including their original push-pull connectors.

“The cars and drivers were incredible last year, and the first race in LMP2 was very encouraging,” said Todd McAtee, Vice President, Americas Business Development, Mouser Electronics. “We are very pleased to once again partner with LEMO to sponsor Vaillante Rebellion. Just as the cars and drivers excel on the track, Mouser consistently excels in distributing the newest, most advanced, high-quality electronic components from our manufacturer partners like LEMO.”

Racing is all about speed and endurance, and racing sponsorships are an innovative way for Mouser to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies from its manufacturer partners. After the race at Spa-Francorchamps on May 6, the series travels to the famed track at Le Mans, France, June 17 and 18; Nürburgring, Germany, on July 16; Mexico City on September 3; Fuji, Japan, on October 15; and Shanghai, China, on November 5. The 2017 season ends in Sakhir, Bahrain, on November 18.
