Smart city mission by Modi Govt is an initiative to renovate the cities of India to make them smarter to live. Bihar got 3 cities nominated in the first list of smart cities in India. Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Biharsharif are the first 3 cities nominated to be developed as a smart city under the smart city mission of Union Govt. Each city will be funded by INR 500 Cr to develop them and renovate the existing infrastructure.
Bhagalpur is the first city of Bihar to be developed as a smart city and got second place in the 2nd list of smart cities. Two more cities are still in the queue to be announced in the fourth list.
