The Mouser-sponsored Vaillante Rebellion racing team is celebrating a spectacular double-podium finish at the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas, following up a fantastic first-place LMP2 victory just two weeks earlier in Mexico City. With just three races remaining in the season, the team has the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship title in sight.
On the Central Texas track, the two Vaillante Rebellion cars waged a thrilling race-long battle with the Jackie Chan DC Racing team, which now holds a razor-thin lead over Vaillante Rebellion No. 31 in the LMP2 standings. The No. 13 car, driven by Nelson Piquet, Jr., Mathias Beche and David Heinemeier Hansson, finished a strong second place in the grueling Austin heat, followed by the No. 31 car, piloted by Bruno Senna, Nico Prost and Julien Canal. Combined with a second-place finish for No. 31 at Germany’s Nürburgring in July, the Mouser-sponsored team has had three podium finishes in a row.
Mouser is proud to partner with valued supplier LEMO, a global leader in the design and production of precision custom connection solutions, to sponsor Vaillante Rebellion for the entire 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship season. Mouser distributes the full line of quality LEMO connector solutions including their original push-pull connectors.
“This season gets even more exciting as we near the final race,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser’s Vice President of Americas Business Development. “Both cars are performing exceptionally well, and the No. 31 car has the title in sight. We are very eager to see what happens in Fuji.”
Next up is the 6 Hours of Fuji, set for Oct. 15 in Oyama, Japan. A capacity crowd of 110,000 is expected to attend the race, set on a tough 2.8-mile course featuring 16 challenging turns. Racing is all about speed and endurance, and Mouser sees racing sponsorships as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies from its manufacturer partners.
The Mouser-backed Rebellion team ran away with the crown in the LMP1 Privateer Class in 2016. After Fuji, the team travels to Shanghai on Nov. 5, before ending the season at Sakhir, Bahrain, on Nov. 18. To learn more about Vaillante Rebellion racing, visit https://www.mouser.com/rebellion-racing.
