Landitec launched brand new solutions for ideal Network Security & Performance

By launching two new scope7 network appliances, the German VAD of network equipment Landitec extends the product range of its own brand for state-of-the-art and ready-to-run network solutions. The scope7-4220 and scope7-4220-XL are the new scope7 appliance family members which meet the overall demanding requirements of business networks – such as high performance, security and efficiency – embraced in a single chassis. Landitec has consequently been extending the scope7 portfolio since the launch of the brand in 2011, providing an exceptional package that consists of optimized performance, security, sustainability and efficiency for network infrastructures to all customers.

Powerful allrounder appliances tailored for medium sized network requirements

To ensure all the features mentioned above, a core aspect is to avoid annoying bottleneck scenarios which slow down the overall network performance, regardless the size of a network infrastructure. Due to the overwhelming development speed in IT technology, continuously adjusting and redesigning digital networks in order to maintain a state-of-the-art architecture is another indispensable feature. The recently launched scope7-4220 and scope7-4220-XL network appliances are convenient allrounder solutions that ideally and professionally meet the requirements of medium sized business networks – embracing crucial features such as contemporary hardware components, reliability, versatile connectivity and expandability in a compact 1U housing.

What’s inside?

The new scope7-4220 appliance is equipped with an Intel Core i5-9500 CPU (with AES-NI), 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 240 GB SSD storage. The device provides high connectivity, expandability and great throughput features, such as 8 x RJ45 GbE ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and one free network module slot, completing the overall outstanding hardware components.

The new scope7-4220-XL runs with an Intel Xeon E-2336 CPU (with AES-NI) and is equipped with powerful hardware components, such as 16 GB ECC DDR4 RAM and a 240 GB SSD storage. The appliance shares the equal rich connectivity, expandability and powerful throughput features as the scope7-4220 version.

In addition, Landitec’s business philosophy of merging high quality hardware with long-term engineering experience and efficient open source software is valid for all launched scope7® products, being also the case for these two new appliance members.

High quality hardware meets leading open source software

scope7 solutions seamlessly combine hardware components and open source software, resulting in being ready-to-run appliances deployable in various use cases with specific requirements. In addition to all advantages open source applications provide, the high-performance data of scope7 appliances are also officially certified by well-known open source projects such as OPNsense or flexiWAN. Moreover, several obligatory quality tests guarantee a vanishingly low failure rate (< 0.3%) and ensure a trouble-free and overall satisfying product experience. To complete the cycle of networking digitization and optimization services, Landitec enriches this full package solution by providing long term as well as deep IT engineering experience in networking equipment distribution, professional support and contemporary extension of the product range.
