The company previously achieved certification at its hubs in Houston, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam in 2012, 2013, and 2019, respectively. ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard for laboratory and calibration operations to establish requirements for quality, competence, and consistency. The certification provides third-party validation that Smith’s in-house testing of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components is performed with the right equipment and proper procedures to ensure precision, accuracy, and reliability. Smith’s testing equipment is calibrated by a third party, and the company provides measurement to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and/or manufacturer standards.
Smith opened its Singapore operational hub in 2023, which mirrors the capabilities of its warehouses in Houston, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam. The 20,000-square-foot facility offers a full suite of inspection, testing, and storage for components and safely houses product across all stages of the supply chain.
