Absolute EMS, Inc., a six-time award-winning provider of fast turnaround, turnkey contract electronic manufacturing services (EMS), recently completed a company-wide J-STD-001 Class 3 with Space Addendum training for its production and quality teams. The weeklong, hands-on training was led by Circuit Technology Incorporated, an industry-recognized provider of electronics assembly instruction.
This is the second time Absolute EMS has made this type of investment in its people, as part of the company’s ongoing focus on developing technical expertise across every level of its operation. In keeping with Absolute EMS’s excellent standards, the training brought together soldering technicians, second operations staff, and QC/QA operators to sharpen their skills in soldering, assembly, and inspection to the industry’s highest reliability standard.
J-STD-001, developed by the Global Electronics Association (formerly IPC), is recognized worldwide as the benchmark for high-quality electronic assemblies. In addition to certifying multiple team members, one Absolute EMS employee will move forward to become a certified J-STD trainer, allowing future courses to be conducted in-house and making the training part of the company’s ongoing operations.
“This training gave our team the opportunity to pause, refresh, and refine the techniques that matter most to product reliability,” said Ray Amirkiai, Director of Quality at Absolute EMS. “Having an in-house trainer means we can keep building on that knowledge every day.”
The sessions covered everything from soldering and inspection methods to material handling and workmanship criteria. By investing in practical, hands-on instruction, Absolute EMS ensures its production teams continue to perform to the highest standards for industries where quality can’t be compromised, including aerospace, medical, and industrial electronics.
