AUMOVIO announced that Dr. Otmar Schreiner has taken over as Managing Director of co‑pace, succeeding Jürgen Bilo, who enters his retirement after creating and significantly shaping the development of the start-up organization. With the integration of co‑pace and AUMOVIO’s innovation activities, the company reinforces its commitment to strengthening technology scouting, start-up engagements, and strategic investments. In his new role, Schreiner reports to Nino Romano, CTO of AUMOVIO.
Schreiner brings extensive leadership experience from across Continental and AUMOVIO. Over the course of his career he managed key German, French, Japanese, and American customer accounts. co‑pace achievements strengthen AUMOVIO’s global innovation strategy
Starting 2017 outgoing Managing Director Jürgen Bilo established co‑pace as a globally connected innovation platform, building strong links to start-up ecosystems around the world. Through this work, the team developed proof‑of‑concepts into joint development agreements and long‑term business collaborations. In addition, a profound venture capital portfolio was built in line with AUMOVIO’s innovation and growth priorities. Alongside these efforts, co‑pace has provided AUMOVIO with early insights into emerging technologies and business models, helping to reduce time‑to‑market, lower R&D risk, and strengthen the company’s outside‑in perspective.
“Thanks to Jürgen Bilo´s leadership and together with a strong team, we connected AUMOVIO to some of the most promising startups globally and opened new pathways for innovation. I am confident that Otmar will continue to expand co‑pace’s impact and drive the mobility technologies of tomorrow.” notes Nino Romano, CTO AUMOVIO.
Schreiner explains the path forward: “Our ambition at co‑pace is to identify and advance pioneering technologies and business models that keep AUMOVIO ahead of the curve. Through targeted collaborations and fast execution, we will turn innovation into real value for the company and our customers.”
With Otmar Schreiner now leading the organization, co‑pace will continue to expand AUMOVIO’s access to breakthrough, pioneering technologies and deepen collaboration across global startup ecosystems — accelerating innovation for the mobility industry.
