Real-Time Signal Classification – AOC Europe, the leading European symposium of the Association of Old Crows (AOC), brings together decision-makers from armed forces, government agencies, the defense industry, and academia in Helsinki from May 19 to 21, 2026. This year’s theme – “Re-Arming Europe for Electromagnetic Spectrum Superiority” – defines an agenda to which Aaronia AG, headquartered in Strickscheid (Eifel region), is making a central technical contribution.
SPECTRAN® V6 Mobile: The Portable All-Rounder Takes Center Stage
The centerpiece of Aaronia’s presence is the SPECTRAN® V6 Mobile – the world’s first portable real-time spectrum analyzer with a real-time bandwidth (RTBW) of 490 MHz. The device covers a frequency range from 9 kHz to 140 GHz and achieves a sweep speed of 3 THz/s. Its 15″ display, particularly relevant for field applications, reaches a brightness of up to 1,500 nits, making it easily readable even under direct sunlight.
These performance parameters make the SPECTRAN® V6 Mobile an ideal platform for a broad range of applications: from mobile broadband monitoring and spectral situational awareness to the analysis of radar, jamming, and spoofing signals, as well as drone detection and EW applications. The SPECTRAN® V6 platform – deployed in all AARTOSTM DDS variants, from the X2 to the X9 – forms the hardware foundation for fully integrated solutions for real-time signal classification and geolocation, bridging the gap between traditional high-performance measurement technology and modern C-UAS systems.
Direction Finding and Professional Antenna Portfolio
Real-time direction finding is one of the most demanding disciplines in the EW environment. At Helsinki, Aaronia AG will therefore present its current portfolio of integrated DF solutions under the AARTOSTM DF2, DF4, and DF9 product lines – ranging from compact handheld systems for individual operators to networked multi-sensor architectures for large-area geolocation.
The new generation of IsoLOG® DF antennas supports AoA real-time direction finding up to 18 GHz, with an extension to 40 GHz currently in development.
Through the integration of additional direction-finding algorithms – Power of Arrival (PoA) and Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) – signals in the lower frequency range can also be reliably detected, classified, and localized. The combination of multiple systems enables automatic 3D triangulation of transmitters and full recording of flight paths; integrated camera systems allow optical verification of the object and any potential payload. The portfolio is further complemented by the PowerLOG® horn antenna series with coverage up to 70 GHz, as well as additional broadband antennas for mobile and stationary applications.

RTSA-Suite PRO: The Software Intelligence Behind the Systems
All hardware solutions from Aaronia AG are powered by the RTSA-Suite PRO – the fastest real-time spectrum analysis software on the market. Its innovative block-based system allows flexible configuration of virtually any measurement scenario without programming knowledge. Key features include:
- Real-time 3D signal direction finding in under 1 µs (in conjunction with the IsoLOG® 3D DF antenna), with simultaneous localization of an unlimited number of transmitters across the entire frequency spectrum – including GPS position and altitude
- Fully automatic pulse classification and real-time demodulation/decoding (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM, DECT, QPSK, QAM, and more)
- 3D map view with topography, building models, and RF propagation models
- Record & Replay of the full I/Q bandwidth (up to 245 MHz) with “Smart Buffering” for virtually unlimited recording duration
- Freely scalable multi-sensor architecture: multiple SPECTRAN® V6 units can be networked
- Integration of cameras (including automatic tracking), jammers, and radar systems
The RTSA-Suite PRO is continuously developed; updates are released daily.
