The Melexis MLX90382 magnetic position sensors combine a Triaxis® Hall magnetic front end, an analog-to-digital converter, digital hardware for high-speed signal processing and conditioning, and several output drivers. The MLX90382 is susceptible to three components of the magnetic flux density applied to the IC (i.e., Bx, By, and Bz) and a differential magnetic field in the Z-axis. By programming the sensor, the user can choose which axis pair to use to specify an angle. The flexibility, combined with the appropriate magnetic design, enables the MLX90382 to calculate both the absolute and incremental positions of any rotating magnet.
The MLX90382 sensors are ideal for high-speed encoders, automotive, robotics, E-mobility, industrial motors, E-steering, and E-braking motor position sensor, absolute and incremental rotary position sensor applications.
