Through their experiences and perspectives, Above the Noise will give listeners an inside look at the breakthroughs, challenges and business decisions behind important developments in RF and microwave technology.

The premiere episode, “How RF CMOS Won: Jim Cable on Peregrine, Murata, and the CMOS Switch Revolution,” features Jim Cable, the semiconductor industry leader who helped pioneer RF CMOS technology at Peregrine Semiconductor.
In the 31-minute conversation, Cable recounts the development of silicon-on-sapphire and silicon-on-insulator RF switches, the challenges of bringing disruptive semiconductor technology to market, and the path that ultimately helped RF CMOS compete with and displace GaAs switch technology in major applications.
