Amphenol RF expands its alternate plating portfolio with a new RF Connectors

The RF Connectors are designed for applications in demanding environments that require a more ruggedized solution

Amphenol RF is pleased to expand the line of extreme exposure RF interconnect with an additional SMA bulkhead jack. This connector is a waterproof, IP67-rated solution designed to terminate to flexible, low-loss LMR 400 cable. In addition to the standard features of this popular interface, this connector offers an extra layer of protection that guards against harsh external elements. The unique tin-nickel plating is validated for up to 720 hours of corrosive resistance when in contact with direct exposure to salt spray.

This SMA RF Connectors is developed with a brass body, coated in tin-nickel plating and a gold-plated, brass contact and offers reliable RF performance up to 6 GHz. Bulkhead connectors are intended to be inserted into an enclosure which are tightened with a lock washer and nut. The IP67 ingress protection is achieved using specialized o-rings and gaskets surrounding the dielectric and center contact to prevent damage to costly internal components.
