Nexperia announced its financial results for 2022, with healthy growth being achieved in key segments such as automotive and industrial. The semiconductor manufacturer, which specializes in Discrete components, Power- and Logic ICs, saw a 10.7% year-on-year increase in total revenue – reaching $2.36 billion. Product sales growth for the year was confirmed at 12%.
The solid figures were underpinned by the strength of the underlying megatrends of digitalization and electrification, which continue to support demand for products, specifically power discretes. Nexperia remains dedicated to the 70-year heritage of its business while also making strategic investments in sustainable technologies such as energy harvesting.
“To keep up with rising levels of demand, we continued to invest in strengthening our production capacities, both in our own facilities as well as through external partnerships. Record investments have been made in Europe and Asia. Key examples include further expanding capacity in our European wafer fabs and test and assembly facilities in Asia,” states Stefan Tilger, CFO of Nexperia.
The company continues to invest in its production capacities as well as research and development activities worldwide to maintain its technological advantage. The company has also added to its global workforce, creating new research, development, and production roles in critical areas. “Nexperia continues to invest in skills development across the organization,” says Stefan Tilger. “We welcomed more than 1,000 new colleagues in 2022, so TeamNexperia has grown to over 15,000 employees across the globe.”
Looking ahead, Nexperia is well-positioned to play a central role in shaping the future of technology with a diverse and differentiated portfolio that confirms its position as a global leader in essential semiconductors. Power Discretes, including wide bandgap, and Modules, as well as power management and signal conditioning ICs provide an excellent foundation for sustained growth. “At Nexperia, we are proud that our products are used in innovative systems and solutions that improve society and protect the environment,” says Wing, CEO of Nexperia. “It is a role – and indeed, a responsibility – that we take very seriously as we look to build a more sustainable future.”
