Indium Corporation has earned a Mexico Technology Award for its high-reliability mixed-alloy for solder paste, Durafuse HR. The award was presented during an awards ceremony on September 11 at the SMTA Guadalajara Expo and Tech Forum in Jalisco, Mexico.
“At Indium Corporation, we believe that materials science changes the world,” said Alfonso Herrera, Regional Sales Manager for Mexico. “We are honored to receive the Mexico Technology Award for Durafuse HR, a product designed for automotive and other high-reliability soldering applications.”
The Mexico Technology Awards, presented by Mexico EMS, recognize the best new innovations in the printed circuit assembly and packaging industries over the past year.
A new high-reliability alloy system used for solder paste, Durafuse HR was developed from the company’s Durafuse mixed-alloy technology. Durafuse HR is a patent-pending alloy system that delivers enhanced thermal cycling performance and superior voiding performance without vacuum reflow, especially for high-reliability automotive applications. It is engineered to withstand 3,000+ thermal cycles at -40°C/125°C across different PCB finishes and component types. It is ideal for applications requiring an extended mission profile beyond what is achievable with traditional Sn/Ag/Cu Pb-free alloys. It outperforms SAC305 when it comes to bottom-terminated component voiding. It also offers reduced solder joint cracking and increased shear strength while reducing waste and increasing throughput.
Durafuse HR features:
- High-temperature thermal cycling reliability
- Excellent voiding performance
- Good shear strength
- Compatible with most SAC305 reflow profiles
- Compatible with standard PCB surface finishes, including ImSn, OSP, and ENIG
